Hello beautiful, Are you treating yourself as an afterthought? I think most of us start the year with incredible intentions — and whether you set yourself the goal of eating more healthily, including more movement in your day, honing your skincare routine, or taking up a new hobby, there’s a common theme underpinning your intentions: Respect. Respect for your body, for your mind, for your soul. Respect for your needs and your desires. However, I’m willing to bet that quite a few of you have already let those intentions fall by the wayside. And I get it. You’re super busy. You have a million different people putting demands on your time and energy. And, my goodness, it’s sometimes just easier to give in and put everyone else first, to treat yourself as an afterthought, to set aside your wants and needs for a more ‘convenient’ time. But, if this is ringing all sorts of bells for you this month, I just want to give you the most gentle of nudges and remind you that you matter. That your needs and desires matter now. And that you deserve to treat yourself with that New Year inspired respect all year round. So I have an Easter/Springtime mission for you… No matter how busy you are right now, whether you’re prepping for a holiday, have to cook roast lamb for your entire family, or are just up to your eyes in work stuff, take a minute to anchor yourself to the present moment and to channel your spirit and energy into the next phase of the year. Here’s how: Start this ritual by finding the symbol that most closely represents your life and your energy right now. Eggs are the obvious one — they’re everywhere at the moment, they’re such a potent symbol of life and rebirth, and they might feel like the right place to direct your mental focus. Or you might find yourself drawn to something else right now; water, if you feel like you want to find your flow, clouds if you’re moving towards a state of flux or have the desire to finally let something go, tree roots if you’re laying the foundations of exciting future plans, the flickering flame of a candle if you’re coming to terms with a loss of any kind. Whatever it is, allow yourself a moment to focus on your symbol, to trust in your inner wisdom, to accept your current reality, to connect with your desires, and — most importantly — to nurture that seed of self-respect growing within you, allowing it to take root and grow so that you can keep showing up for yourself throughout the coming year. And if you need a beautiful little nudge each month and each week to keep showing up for yourself, to lay a solid foundation of respect that’ll help you stay focused on your goals, and to give you not just the motivation but the tools to create a life filled with peace, joy, and self-confidence, I’m here for you.
